R&B group formed by classmates at Milford Mill High School originally known as the Electras Trio. Original members included Joel Fradin (lead guitar ex-Del-Rays), Larry Tobin (rhythm guitar), and David Nimeroff (drums).

The group performed for private parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvah’s, ‘sweet sixteen’ parties… By summer 1964 the group became known as the Continental Rockers featuring Fradin and Tobin, with Larry Bridge (drums), Bob Goldstein (bass), and Moe Goldman (sax). Lead vocalists included Nancy Briscoe, James McCall, and during their later ‘60s soul period included vocalist Earl Owings, along with a four-piece horn section.

In 1965 the group released the single “Flashback Part 1” b/w “Heatwave” on Nimeroff’s Nimbo Record label.
The Continental Rockers performed swim clubs (Milford Mill, Bonnie View…), Summit Country Club, frat and sorority parties. On television they performed a gig at the Dixie Ballroom opposite the Van Dykes on the Lloyd Thaxton Show. On November 18, 1967 they appeared on the Kerby Scott Show. Opened for the Mad Lads along with Frank James & the Outlaws on January 7, 1968 at the Dixie Ballroom. Performed at the Moonshot Dance on March 30 1968 with Frankie & the Spinners, Aces, and Jetsons & Tangiers. Also performed at Painter’s Mill for the March of Dimes benefit festival “Mod ’69 Act III” on May 28, 1969.




Goldstein founded Maryland Sound in 1966. His company provided sound for the Club Venus, they accompanied Frankie Valli tours for 18 years, and did large events such as the 2000 millennium celebration in New York City, presidential inaugurations, etc…
Bridge and Goldman left the Rockers in 1967 to join Frank James & the Outlaws. In the ‘90s-00s Goldman was a member of Mary Lou & the Untouchables.
