Formerly known as Cindy & the Censations. The group was assembled by Bay Sound recording artist Clay Hunt (see bio). With three other veteran lead singers Cindy Hund (ex-Sheratons), Tony Tillman, and Roy Walman (ex-Verdicts) they assembled an 8-piece showband that played rock and soul music around the Baltimore and D.C. area, one of their early full time house band gigs at the Sierra Torch Room Nov/Dec 1969.

In 1970 they became known as the New Censation and appeared at clubs such as the Stardust Inn (‘71), Golden 40 Inn (‘74), the Redwood Inn (‘76), and the Capricorn (78’). The group performed the Baltimore and DC club circuits while also traveling abroad including European tours.
Billed as Larry Brown & the New Censation they released a single in 1972 on Omen Records label produced by Van McCoy.

The group released a self-titled LP on the Pride label in 1974 all songs written and produced by McCoy. They released several singles on Pride. The group embarked on a European tour in spring 1975 to support their record releases.

Over the years they had many different members but Cindy (keyboards, vocals), and Roy (guitar, vocals), continued as constants along with Will Williams (lead guitar), Lenny Britz (drums), and Dean Andrews (bass ex-Good & Plenty, Bruce Westcott Band).

The New Censation continued into the ‘00s playing high-energy dance music. Cindy and Roy also produced and recorded music for aerobics tapes. In addition to the New Censation, Cindy appeared on records by artists such as Kevin Kline, Tom Principato, and Lloyd Marcus.

Tony Tillman went on to perform Sammy Davis, Jr. tribute shows in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and cruise ships.
