After the breakup of the Doubts, Gary Brown (guitar, sax ex-Prophets, Lotus Duo, Lotus Band, Night Train) continued to put together yet another group of quality musicians. The latest group taking the namesake of Gary (guitar), Edgar Myers aka ‘Chip’ (drums ex-Paragon, Plexus, Windows), and Tom Stansbury (bass). Occasionally Louise Brown sang with the Gary Brown Group. They played a mix of ‘60s rock, new wave, and some originals.

After a three-week stint in St. Croix in March of 1983, bassist Angelo Grandinetti replaced Tom Stansbury and they added guitarist Paul Gregorzak to become the second form of The Doubts
The (new) Doubts played the local club circuit circa 1983-85.
By 1985 Edgar moved on. He was replaced with ‘Doug Drumulator’ (an electronic drum machine), and the group became Third Party featuring Gary, Paul, Angelo, and Doug.

Beginning in the mid-‘80s Gary began playing solo in-between band gigs. Additionally, he played duos with either Paul Gregorzak, or Rob Fahey (ex-Ravyns).

Gary continued to form groups as needed depending on the gig. Solo, duo, trio, or full band. As a solo he played at The Horse You Came in On, Maggie’s, Johannson’s, Rafters, and many other venues.
According to Gary “Monday nights at the Horse you Came in On started as a solo. I was playing there the night John Lennon was murdered. Later I came back after Beat Boys band ended, and Rob Fahey joined me and we were Beat Boys Duo there for many years.”

In 1994 Gary formed a new Gary Brown Group. This time members included John ‘Scoop’ Christensen (bass ex-Off the Wall, Jim Ball & Suits), Mike Wann (drums ex-Trilogy…), and Dayton Alford (drums –Off the Wall, Kicksouls) was briefly with the group. This group morphed into Gary & the Groove. Edgar came back on drums and alternated with Mark Klotzbach (drums ex- Catalyst Project, Still Life). Keith Larsen (ex-Killing Floor) became the regular drummer with Mark sometimes filling in. Other members included Greg Lardieri (keyboards ex-Lucifer…), David Zee (keyboards), Bernie Staab (drums), Siri Shaw (vocals ex-Mood Swings, Odyssey)…
Gary’s subsequent CD releases include a 1991 solo album “The Magic Touch,” and a 200* collection by Gary & the Groove.
Edgar played in numerous jazz groups throughout ‘80s-00s. He released a CD in 1996 titled “Conversations,” while also appearing on Alaska’s 1994 CD “For the Moment.” In the ‘00s he split time between the Groove and the Jeff Gibble Group.
