Top-40 and disco band began as a trio of players formerly with Endless Express. John Bova (guitar), Butch Easton (keyboards), and Joe ‘Stix’ Jones (drums). Easton soon quit and was replaced with Buddy Rose (keyboards ex-Mel Rose Trio). Eventually saxophonist Ike Clayton was added and the group became known as Three-of-a-Kind Plus One. They could be seen at Gordon’s Moby Dick Lounge, Mimmie Lorenzo’s, Our Place (the new Sweeney’s), the Four Seasons Inn, Merritt House, Dutch Mill…
Jones played briefly with the Cadillac Cruisers. In the ‘00s he provided the backbeat for the Esquires variety group.
