Country group formed by Marlin Sauble (drums and vocals), and Dwight ‘Spider Webb’ Bedsaul (guitar and fiddle -301 Country) to be the house band for George Lakos’ club the Pumpkin Patch. The group also included Howard ‘B. B.’ Boone (bass), and Gordie Sauble (steel guitar). The Pickers worked with many of the top local country singers including Johnny Anthony, Eddie Leight, Clay Price, and on Sunday nights were joined by Carol Avery, one of the best local female country singers. The Pickers played at the Pumpkin Patch during the mid to late ‘80s, then moved over to the Millersville Inn for a few months, before landing a gig at the Bolero Lounge in Brooklyn where they played Thursday through Sunday nights for four years.

After leaving the Bolero, the group became known as Nite Life, and continued to play local clubs and Moose lodges. Marlin left temporarily to play with his brother in a band called Crazy Horse (a group that continued as late as 2009), then he and Spider joined up with Gene Rhodes & Long Lonesome Highway. After Carol and ‘B. B.’ Boone retired, Marlin and Spider hooked up with Charlie Price and formed Key Largo. Spider later retired, but Key Largo continued playing locally at least into late ‘00s, including occasional get togethers with original members B. B. and Carol.
