Jessup/Odenton area teen rock band. Members all attended Arundel High School and included John Hadley (lead vocals), Gary Richard (guitar), Louis Norbeck (guitar, organ), Roy Payne (bass), Don Quigley (sax), and Mickey Wells (drums), later adding Jay Dion (trombone), and Marvin Stockett (trumpet)…

The group was basically a cover band that started out playing Paul Revere, Beach Boys, Cream and other hits. After adding trombone and trumpet they began playing more soul hits.

Managed by J.O. Brown, the Gent Set earned the title of May 1967 Band of the Month by winning the Battle of the Bands at the Fort Meade Service Club. The group opened for the Doors (at the Laurel Roller Rink), and Tommy James & the Shondells. They played at the Jaguar Club in Glen Burnie, Joppatowne Teen Center, Joppatowne Pool & Tennis Club, St. Stephens C.Y.O., and the Laurel Teen Club… Seen at the Old Newsboys Parade on June 21, 1967 appearing in a show that also featured comedians Marty Allen and Steve Rossi.
The group did some studio work and some road touring outside of the local area. They recorded a demo “My Girl” at Dome Studios.
Norbeck and Quigley went to play in the bands Coming Generation, and Flying Circus.
