As John Luther’s Starbrite they released two singles and an album “Starlite Starbrite” on Sunburst Records, and a single on Ray Donahoe’s Chesapeake Record label. Starbrite featured soloists Danny Reaves aka ‘Guitarzan’ on “Till the Night,” Barry Caudill ‘Sad Sax’ (sax) on “Carolina Blue,” and Mary Pat Hughes (flute) on “Mountain Man.”
Caudill studied under Hank Levy at Towson State. He since played in dozens of local bands including the Heat & the Cold Sweat Horns, Bobby & the Believers, Crack the Sky, Great Train Robbery… He has played for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Archie Bell, Ethel Ennis, Al Martino, and many others. In the ‘00s he was a member of Carey Ziegler’s Expensive Hobby.
