Hard rock group from the Dundalk / Highlandtown area featuring Bob Trotta (bass guitar ex-Truck, Turn Blue), Rick Ecke (vocals ex-Turn Blue), John Trotta (rhythm guitar), John Robusto (lead guitar), Martin Canelli (keyboards ex-Truck), and Bob Fetchik (drums).

Wintersunn went on to play all the top Baltimore area clubs as well as traveling throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Locally they performed at Andre’s Lounge, Eastwind, New Glen Theater, Holiday House, Act III, Seagull Inn, Peddler’s Pub, the Pit, Toni’s Dream, Tradewinds, and many biker club events…
On the road they traveled throughout the college frat circuit, and clubs in Martinsburg WV, Charles Town WV, Dover DE (The Hub), and as far west as Kalamazoo MI (Coral Gables)…
They performed at the Putty Hill Park free concert on Cub Hill Road on Sunday June 23, 1974 – appearing with Royal 5+1, OHO, and Pooba. They also appeared at the Catonsville Community College Santa Claus Anonymous Concert on November 30, 1974 featuring many of the area’s top bands.

Wintersunn opened concerts for local favorites Face Dancer, and Tony Sciuto…

Canelli was later replaced with Bruce Kammer. The line-up stayed fairly constant throughout their history. During the ‘80s the group went through several personnel changes. Robusto was replaced with Dennis Brown (who had once replaced Robusto as a member of Turn Blue). Brown left again and Mike Shipley (ex-Spring Fever) joined. Brown later came back as lead guitarist for a while and was later replaced with Mark Eder. Eder was with the group briefly. After his departure Wintersunn continued as a five-piece band.

Fetchik later with hard rock band Shock Wave…

In 1988 the Trotta’s joined Tony Vega in forming the rock band Maxx.
