Jazz/rock trio led by Mark Wes (keyboards, lead vocals), with Larry Wright (bass, vocals), and Joe Dickerson (drums).

Group was managed by DJ Rockin’ Robin and Premier Attractions and toured nationally. Locally they were seen at the Embassy Room, Fort Meade Service Club 1, and house band at the Ebony East. They performed at the Decency Rally at Memorial Stadium (1969). Opened for the Temptations & All-Star Motown Revue at the Civic Center. On television they performed on the WBAL-channel 11 program “Baltimore Breakout.”

The Trio performed for Spectacular ’69, a banquet to honor WWIN DJ Rockin’ Robin, on March 28, 1969, along with Linda Jones & Band.
On September 21, 1969 they played for opening night of the Moon Room (upper level of Club Venus).

Recordings of the group were released on Rockin’ Robin’s Roc-Ker label including “I Love You (A Little Too Much),” “If I Had a Hammer,” and an album “Live at Lenny Moore’s.”
The group later became known as the Mark Wes Express.

Wes, actually Wesley Aydlett, also wrote and co-wrote many songs that were recorded by local artists including “Can’t You See” with Fred (Rockin’ Robin) Robinson recorded by Brenda Jones…
Dickerson later played for the Temptations road band, and then for three years in the touring band for the Delfonics. In the ‘00s he continued to play for United Creative Soul (U.C.S.).
