After the breakup of Zehn Archar and a very brief stint with his band the Stragglers, Taylor (see bio) formed a contemporary rockabilly trio. The new band he called the Ravers consisted of Richard (guitar), Neil Dissinger (bass), and Steve Weinert (drums). Later members included Rod DeOlivares (guitar). They played mostly their own rocking style of original material. Two songs “King of the Road,” and “SOL” enjoyed some WHFS airplay. A 4 song 12” E.P of their originals was produced by Cub Coda (of Brownsville Station fame) and released in 1983 on the Star Rhythm label.

They could be seen at the Marble Bar, The Pit in Westminster, Full Moon Saloon, Back of the Vac, Back Street café, Lucky Ned Pepper’s, Phoenix Emporium, E. J. Bugs, The Pit (Westminster), Full Moon Saloon, Donnelly’s (Frederick)…

The band continued playing local clubs into the ‘90s. Afterward Taylor continued as a solo artist as well as a member of the band Frankentractor. He has continued to produce recordings of himself as well as other local artists at his Crossroads Sounds Studio in Eldersburg, Md. Other recordings by the band include:
