Group originally formed in 1986 by Harry Haines (lead vocals, drums). Harry played in many Baltimore and D.C. bands in the ‘60s-70s including the Jade Brothers, Animal Crackers, American Star Band, Second Nature, Milk & Honey, and Karnival. Dave Gardiner (keyboards, guitar). David ‘Gabby’ Gabaldon (guitar) had been a member of D.C. bands Jimmy Eller & the Little People, The Eye, and others. Alan Remsburg (tenor sax) played with many Frederick, D.C., and regional groups including Damion & the Classics, and Junior Cline & the Recliners.
In 1997 the original members re-formed The Shades. Members included Demetri Callas (guitar -see bio). Represented by Charles Steinmetz.
