Rock band based in Baltimore City. Members included Ron Doe Adcock (guitar), George Harr (guitar ex-Dew Dwarf…), Jerry Gibbs (lead vocals ex-Chapparels, Procreation), Mike (bass), Frank Quill (drums). In 1977 Gibbs was replaced with Warren Cherry (ex-Dew Dwarf, Sass, Astri), Adcock left and Jerry Treffinger (Hammond organ) joined at this juncture to fill the slack. Rampage played Junior’s in Edgewood, Aberdeen Proving Ground Music Fest, various area clubs.
Warren recalled “during the summer of ’77 we rehearsed in a second-floor loft at the NE corner of Broadway and Fleet Streets in Fells Point. Filmmaker John Waters occupied the loft above us and had an office and also shot interior scenes there. One day when we were rehearsing, his assistant and casting director, Pat Moran came downstairs and told us to “turn it the fuck down!” How ironic to be too loud for the outrageously edgy John Waters! As a postscript; we had painted “RAMPAGE” in three-foot-high white block letters on seven side by side windows so that the name could be read from the street below.
