The band Penelope consisted of Dave Gostomski (lead vocals ex-Froggy & the Gremlins), Joe Sanzone (guitar), Vince Sanzone (bass), Dave Wladkowski (drums, percussion ex-Con Chords), Wayne Brickowski (organ), and Rudy (sax). John Chinskey replaced Vince on bass in 1971. Penelope could be seen at the Dark Corner – sometimes accompanied by other local bands including Nick C & the Chateaux, and Fresh. Also seen on numerous occasions at Sarano’s on Route 144 in Ellicott City, and as the Wednesday through Sunday house band at the Keystone Inn.

Wladkowski, also a saxophonist, went on to join Fresh Air, Pen Lucy… Chinskey was also later with Fresh Air, Trust, then a brief stint with Pen Lucy, after which he semi-retired from music. After a 22-year hiatus he joined the variety/dance band Krystal Klear. In the ‘90s-00s Wladkowski and Joe Sanzone were later members of Phat City…
