An English rock and psychedelic band, Midas Touch was formed from the remaining members of the Elegants following the departure of Mike Hodgeman, who left to front the Mike Jones Band. The members were Sam Towers, Jerry Treffinger, Tommy Thompson, and Mike Marcelino, long time Baltimore players with backgrounds from many different bands. They played Vanilla Fudge, Cream, other English rock, etc., using strobe lights and other effects.

The band played exclusively at Hollywood Park, picking up the Elegants’ house band duties for most of 1968. Dave Hutchins, club owner and promoter of the new Mike Jones Band, replaced Midas Touch with the Mike Jones band in September of 1968. Following this, Midas Touch disbanded and members went their separate ways.
