Woodlawn area group originally conceived as an R&B / soul band, the Marlins were one of the first local teen standards/jazz bands. Members included Stan Turk (guitar), Renato Casalena (piano), Bob Caplan (drums), Pat Barry (drums), Gary Greenberg (sax), Art Yates (trombone), and Tina Sobel (vocals).

The Marlins played teen centers, CYO dances, Milford Mill Swim Club, Eastwind, Martins West, and a stint as house band at the Squires Inn (Glyndon). The group played as backup band for the Angels (“My Boyfriend’s Back”) at a 1965 Baltimore performance. They also performed in the Teen Fair Battle of the Bands at the Civic Center in June 1968.

Turk and Yates were later with the Casino Royales. Greenberg also played in the Invaders.
