Wilmington, Delaware born Marcel Forestieri was the region’s answer to Elvis Presley. Known locally as ‘Little El’ he kept busy throughout the ‘70s performing his top-notch Elvis impersonation throughout the east coast and southern states.

Little El & his Velvet Britches, whose members included Bobby Golden (guitar), Tom Fanty (bass), Hugh Allen, Jr. (keyboards), Jeff Gordon (trumpet), Tom Walsh (trumpet ex-Chrome), and Jimmy Wank (drums)…, played regularly at the Golden 40 Inn where he regularly drew capacity crowds, as well as Club Brandy in Elkridge, the Cinema, the Merritt House, the Barge, Mimmie Jr.’s, and Randy’s California Inn.
Marcel starred in a 1981 Broadway production of “Bring Back Birdie,” and later found fame in Las Vegas as an impersonator of stars such as Jay Leno, and Joey Bishop…
