Kingsville group formed by Ed Simpson. After playing in bands in the Air Force, Ed returned to Baltimore in 1962 and was attending the Baltimore Institute of Art. Ed played the accordion, along with Bob Weist (bass), and Sol Losinsky (drums) were playing in a quartet led by clarinetist Harry Steyert. After a dispute the band dissolved. Simpson then formed the Improvisors, a jazz/old standards group, with Losinsky (drums), Larry Woolridge (guitar), and alternating bass guitarists Bob Weist and Joe DiPaula (ex-Vibra-Notes). The Improvisors carved a nitch playing dining and dancing music for the early sets at dinner clubs, then the rock and roll groups came on and played music for dancing. Seen at the Satyr House, and at Bailey’s appearing with the Crystals.

Simpson married and moved to California in 1966. He worked as a photographer for Capitol Records 1966-70 and shot album cover photos of Bobbie Gentry, Beach Boys, and others.
