Rock band featuring David Koslowski (guitar ex-Liquor Bike), Shirle Hale (bass -Jags, Womyn of Destruction), and percussionist / guitarist Miyuki Furtado (Jags, Pornflakes). Gerty was voted Best Rock Band in 1996 City Paper Poll. They released the 1997 EP “Sick of Being Tired + 3” and EP “Raggedy Aneurysm” (Merkin). Their song “Trigger Figure” was included on the 1997 Baltimore band compilation “Adventures in Mobtown” (Kwality 74202).
While on tour Gerty decided to relocate to North Carolina in 1998. They recorded the album “Two Kisses in a Row” (Plastique) that was released after Furtado had departed for New York. A subsequent album “Sweets from The Minibar” (Eskimo Kiss) was released in 2002.
