Rock and R&B band from Towson area featuring Guy Bokeles (lead vocals), Rick Rowe (lead guitar), Stephen Geyer (bass, vocals), Stephen Spencer (Hammond B-3 with two Leslie’s), and Anderson (drums).

Curfew’s manager booked them locally and nationally including a summer in Poughkeepsie, NY, the Purple Onion in Greenwich Village, American University on a double bill with Grin. They opened for the Vanilla Fudge at the Alexandria Roller Rink. They were flown to Dallas by President Johnson to play for his daughter Lynda Bird’s debutante party. Local highlights include performances at the Rocket Room (Stephen remembers as “a topless dive across from the Greyhound station in Baltimore”), as well as various Democratic Conventions and political functions in D.C.…

The group recorded in New York under the direction of independent producers Hunter and Levinson. In 1970 they released their album “Let There Be Dark; And There Was Dark” on United Artists Records. Their songs “Joni’s Song,” and “The American Red White and Blues” were played on local rock radio stations.

Geyer (see bio) was later with Together & Alone, Geyer & Zuskin… He eventually moved to L.A. and went on to have a very successful career in the music industry.
