Percussionist Bob Changor – taken from a Swahili name meaning “God of Fire” was known to literally set his congas on fire during performances.

Changor was a member of the Bay Sound label’s stable of artists in the late ‘60s. He participated as part of the rhythm section for the Bay Sound vocal groups and later fronted the backup group for the Softones as Changor & Company. His band featured multi-instrumentalist Santo Mirabile. Around 1971 Changor split off and formed a new group. The original group became known as The Brass Rail.

Under A&D Booking Agency and Thereway Productions, Changor & Company released the single “Y-Sharp” in 1974.
Changor also backed WMOT recording artist Impact.
