Soul/funk group featuring the vocal quintet James Davenport, Freddie Williams, Butch Staples, Carlton Simmons, and Don… The rhythm section included Michael Stockton (guitar), Ronald Bland (bass), Kelvin Jones (drums), and horns section of Greg Thomas (alto sax), Joe Thomas (alto sax), Gus Johnson (trombone), and Kelvin O’Neal (trumpet)… The group eventually shortened their name to Ice.

The group performed clubs, proms, frat parties, cabarets, etc. They performed in the original Baltimore AFRAM Festivals.

With a few personnel changes the rhythm and brass sections evolved into the band Uncle Remus.

Bland joined Plexus. Kelvin joined the Spindles. Greg later played in George Clinton’s P-Funk contingent. Joe played for State of Affairz in the ‘90s.
