Curtis is a veteran of George Clinton’s P-Funk All-Stars and Bootsy Collins Rubber Band. Deanda toured with the Stanley Turrentine group, and recorded on Motown sessions. Curtis and Deanda were both members of local groups Some Friends of Mine, Future Now.
Tha Funkahol-x basically became NowChild Nation in 2005 with members Curtis, and Deanda, with Ben Cowan Jr. (drums), Andre Giles aka ‘P-Funk Dre’ (guitar), Ron Rolling (trumpet), Dave Miller aka ‘Rufus Roundtree’ (trombone), Scott Taylor (sax), and Curtis Gorham.
