A 5-piece rock group based in Mike Potter’s Orion Sound Studios establishment playing progressive rock covers and originals. Billed as “Retro-Progressive, Pseudo-Psychedelic, Sci-Fi, Art Rock.” Initially formed by employees at the Space Telescope Science Institute. The group took its name from the technique for viewing faint objects. Band members are Mike Potter (vocals, keyboards, flute, sax –Anthology, Chaos Code), Gary Curtis (bass), Glenn Shaffer (vocals, guitar), Bob Rosenbach (drums), Jay Trotta (vocals, keyboards, guitar –Crosswind, Split Decision). Past members were Matt Lallo, Don Neill, Jim Long, Chris Andersen, March Massonni, Dan Rehner and Dan Mullin.


The band played at Cafe Tattoo, Eight by Ten, The Ritz and other venues. They opened for GONG at the Eight by Ten on March 8, 1996 and released a cassette of originals “What the hell, it’s not my planet” in June 1996.

Potter also started the Progressive Rock Showcase Series at Orion which created a venue for concerts by local, national and international progressive groups.
