Punk rock group formed in 1990 by Derrick Buisch (bass), Joseph Heeg (drums), and Peter Quinn (lead vocals), later adding guitarist Daniel Papkin. The group made recordings at the Hat Factory in Baltimore, releasing two independent cassettes and a cardboard 7” single featuring the songs “Gov’t Satellites,” “Statuesque,” Breathing Song,” and “Humming Clutter.” In 1991 the Candy Machine released their self-titled EP, and followed in 1992 with their album titled “#25” (Skene Records), and their second EP “Love of Politics, Politics of Love” (Skene). Soon thereafter Buisch and Heeg departed and were replaced with Forrest French (bass), and Lyle Kissack (drums –Pleasant Livers). This lineup recorded “Auto Republic” that was included on 1993 the Reptilian/Kwality comp “Baltimore, The City That Breeds.” French left in 1993 and former bandmate Jamie Panzer (bass) rejoined the group for their 1994 CD “A Modest Proposal.” This lineup also released the 1997 CD “Tune International” on the DeSoto / Dischord label.

Later members included Charles Scott (keyboards), and Natt Robb (bass).
