Blues / R&B artist Big Jesse Yawn was originally from Florida where he got his start singing gospel music. Turning to jazz he went on to tour with many great performers including Jack McDuff, George Benson, and Grant Green. During the ‘60s he worked with R&B artists Bill Doggett, and Bill Black’s Combo… Yawn later relocated to the Baltimore/Washington area.

After a hiatus from music, he and Rick Serfas formed the Blues Providers. With Yawn as vocalist the group became a favorite at the Cat’s Eye Pub in Fells Point and other venues throughout the Baltimore/D.C. area, while also traveling to Europe. The group performed for President Clinton’s inaugural events. In ‘90s Yawn formed the Music Men blues band. His album “Forever More” features guitar work by Pete Kanaras (ex-Nighthawks)…
