Rock band originated in Pasadena area. Placed in the Baltimore Sun’s Best of the Unknown Bands contest in 1983.

Fronted by singer songwriter Georgie Jessup on piano, with Cool Bob Shade (guitar), Keith McNamee aka ‘Mac’ (bass), and Buffalo Lee Jordan (drums), were the key members of Wavelength. Other additional members were Rudy Norman (vocals ex-Luvs, Spike, Daybreak, Rudy Norman Band, Cruise), Joe Thomas (sax, vocals), and Nova Jackson (vocals), Kissy Thomas and Tiny Holmes (vocals), Melanie Miller (vocals), Sara Picilo (vocals), Keith Hundertmark (organ/vocals Crossfire, Tales), and Cathy Waltrick (guitar/vocals). Other early formations had members David Hood (bass), John Bell (guitar), Jacquie ‘O’ Jessup (vocals)…

Wavelength made an appearance on MPT show “Weeknight Alive.” They opened for NRBQ at the Brickhouse. Also performed at bars and clubs in the tri-state area including The Barn, E.J. Bugs, Cahoots (Frederick), Garfield’s (Annapolis), Rusty Rudder, Fager’s Island, and Marshalls…
They recorded three EP/demos; “Your Demons,” “Fells Point Boogie,” and “Got It All Wrong.” The song “Your Demons” was included on the 1986 various artists album “98 Rock Volume IV (Home Tapes).”
Another EP included “One Man’s Heaven,” “Liberty Valance,” and “Hard Life.” DC 101 played several of these songs over the years Wavelength was together.
DJ Tony ‘Mad Dog’ Colter (WKTK, WIYY, WWDC) managed Wavelength from beginning to end!
For a brief period after Wavelength ended Georgie played piano for Edge City until she was able to form a new band. Jordan formed Detour… Thomas and Jackson’s later bands included Mirage, State of Affairz… Norman later with Left of Center…
