Soul / R&B group formed and managed by guitarist Richard Calloway (Shalimars, Jolly Jax) in 1973. Originally known as Richard & the Soul Twisters, they became U.C.S. around 1977. The group performed throughout Maryland, and traveled to clubs from Boston, Massachusetts to Atlanta, Georgia.
An early ‘00s lineup of United Creative Soul (U.C.S.) Band & Show featured Calloway (guitar), with ‘Still Will’ Tenlarge (guitar, vocals), Donald Colbert (sax, vocals), ‘Kool James’ Doles (bass, vocals), JoJo Dickerson (drums, vocals ex-Mark Wes Trio, Temptations, Delfonics), and Alice Wilhoit (vocals ex-Chapells, Oneness, Earth LTD).
In 00’s Calloway also owns and operates the Personality Club on Harford Road.
