Top-40 band based in Crownsville originated from the Baltimore band Epilog. Adding a horn section in 1981 in order to play more Motown and R&B. They became known as Bobby & the Believers. With lead vocalist Bobby Jackson, the original lineup included Matt Kuhn (guitar), Paul Beardmore (bass), Randy Neilson (keyboards), and Carmen Sorrentino (drums). Early horn section members included Mike Mileski (sax), Jeff Price, and Brad Anderson.

Other members through the years included vocalists Steve Washington, Nita Slater (Paper Cup, Code Blue, Cruel Shoes), Sheila Ford, Joel Lewis, and Kathy Stansbury. Rhythm section Charlie Taylor (guitar), Bob Cumminski, Mike Taylor (guitar –Tony Sciuto Band), Matt Ascione (guitar), Kevin Crowley, and Bill Adams. Horn section Ron Penuska (trumpet), Rob ‘Moe’ Morrison, Joe Brieker (sax –Admirals), Vince Novak, Chuck Klapka (sax ex-Admirals, Cruel Shoes…), Barry Caudill (sax –Cold Sweat Horns, CZEH), John Getz (trombone ex-Crack Pack Horns), Jon Schmidt, Kevin Hughes (sax –Richard Walton Group), Steve Swan, and longtime soundman for the group Blake Neilson.

The band performed countless clubs (the Barn, Golden Sports Bar, Eastpoint Clipper, Marshall’s…), weddings, corporate and private parties throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
