R&B and gospel vocalist. She released the single “Come Back Baby” / “Put Your Love Where I Can Find It” which was written by Floyd Barnes, Jr., and produced by Bernard Purdie. She also sang on the promotional recording “Baltimore on the Move,” a studio production with members of Both Worlds.
In late ‘70s, McClain moved to L.A. Working with producer Frank Wilson they formed the group Alton McClain & Destiny with McClain as lead vocalist. The group went on to score 5 national R&B hits (1979-81) including the 1979 R&B Top-10 / Pop Top-40 hit “It Must Be Love” (Polydor 14532).
In 1981 Alton married GRAMMY winning writer Skip Scarborough. The pair had subsequent success in gospel music.
