Rossi soon formed his own band, Joy. When the Trio was replaced at the Golden 40 by new house band Dryed Ice, Thompson was hired by owner John Sakalis to remain as vocalist. After a few months McCleary and group returned. Thompson rejoined them, they added Bobby Burns (guitar), and group morphed into U.S. Male.
McCleary and his group were seen at Pecora’s and other local clubs in the mid-‘70s…
