Full time Top-40 club band formed by keyboardist Lou Carfizzi (who was attending school in Baltimore), with Wayne Petrush (guitar), Mike Stevens (bass), John Gleim (drums ex-Nemo), and Marty Thompson (lead vocals).
Harbor City could be seen at Johnny Walkers, Red Rooster, The Loft, Redwood Inn (Aberdeen), Hollywood Palace, Bourbon Street (Williamsport PA), The Hanger Club (Waldorf), and the Ramada Inn Circuit (from Woodlawn to Dover DE)…
According to Marty “Eventually after singing 6 nights a week and close to 35 songs per night many times in too high a key my voice started to get tired and so we hired a very talented Nora Lanier Christian to sing with me and Jim Johnston (ex-Shane) to play guitar. Well, the band began phasing me out since my voice needed a month’s rest and so I bowed out. Soon after, Harbor City broke up so I was told.”
Thompson later joined Hot Property… Nora later with Tiffany… Gleim later with Phoenix, Admirals, Kaos…
Harbor City released the single “Feel Like an Angel” b/w “Trying to Get Your Heart” on their own Harbor City Records featuring lead vocals of Christian. The R&B/funk style songs were written and produced by Johnston.
