D.C.’s prominent rock station 1970s to 2000s heard regionally throughout the D.C. and Baltimore area.
Music Director Denise Oliver joined the new 98-Rock station in Baltimore in 1977. DJ Kelly Saunders also moved to 98Rock.
WWDC-DC-101 also featured shock jock Howard Stern and his co-host Robin Quivers, a graduate of The Broadcasting Institute of Maryland.
When Stern was fired from DC-101 in 1982, he and Quivers eventually landed a very lucrative program on Sirius Radio.
The Greaseman morning shock jock host replaced Stern. One of his many publicity stunts included a run for President in 1984.
