Production, management, and publishing company formed in 1974 by Everett Whitehead and Toni Thompkins. Everett had been a veteran writer. Thompkins’ cousin Byron Summerville (Softones) introduced Toni to Everett. The two collaborated on the Softones first single with Thompkins providing backing vocals for the B-side “How Did I Lose.” Everett and Toni subsequently spent a lot of time in New York and Philadelphia shopping their original songs, and Toni enjoyed a brief stint as a staff writer for Philadelphia Int’l Records. Later, Toni and songwriting partner Carlton Rice wrote “Crazy About Your Love” that was recorded by Frankie & the Spindles in 1977. Through the ‘00s Thompkins and Rice continued to develop a catalog of over 300 songs.
