Booking and promotion agency founded in 1970 by Lawrence Steinbach and John Reynolds. John’s former experience was producing shows for Philadelphia’s famous Electric Factory, including a concert at the Baltimore Civic Center in 1969 featuring Blood, Sweat & Tears, Nazz, Spirit, Mother Earth, and Rhinoceros.

Tree Frog’s primary venue was at the 2500-seat Painter’s Mill arena in Owings Mills and featured nationally known acts. Ushers were hired from Bluesette owner Art Peyton’s music co-op with stage manager and crew hailing from local band Joshua.

Local bands such as Grin (featuring Nils Lofgren), Aux, Joshua, Calico, and Greg Kihn opened for artists including Derek and the Dominoes (featuring Eric Clapton), Edgar Winter, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Winter, Humble Pie, Jethro Tull, Elton John, Procol Harum , Cat Stevens, John Mayall, Free, Mott the Hoople, Beach Boys, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, J. Geils Band, Richie Havens, James Cotton, Bee Gees, Staple Singers, Leon Russell, Poco, Gordon Lightfoot, Seatrain, and Redbone.
