An alternative hard rock supergroup. Brent Malkus ‘Burnt Mattress’ (guitar, vocals ex-Berserk), Bill Corsello (bass, vocals ex-Monkeyspank), and Eric Dixon (drums ex-Liquor Bike) formed Uncle Ted Touched Me as a side-project to their other bands. They changed the name to Caffeine Driven Stress Magnets, and then shortened it to Stress Magnets. Dixon was later replaced with Rob Oswald (Jade, Buttsteak), who was replaced with Dave Andler (National Razor, Morphius Records).
Stress Magnets songs were featured on several comps including “Second” (“Echoes of the Nation’s Capital #2” 1995 Third World Underground), “Kendall Fell Asleep in The Corn” (on “Go Kart Vs. The Corporate Giant Volume One” 1996 Go Kart), and “Another Tension Head” (on “Adventures in Mobtown” 1997 Kwality).
The group relocated to Austin, Texas in the late ‘90s. Malkus later in Mondo Generator, Nathan Hamilton & No Deal, and The Texas Sapphires. Oswald later in Mondo Generator, Dirty Sanchez, Karma to Burn, Queens of the Stone Age, and Nebula. Corsello later in Blister Freak Circus, and Good Times Crisis.
