James Callahan, the first “truly computerized” “local Thomas Dolby” in the Baltimore area played keyboards and electronic drums machines as a one-man show. Solitaire opened shows for the Ravyns. His single release “System Overload” b/w “Nothing Left to Say” enjoyed limited success locally, but was later ‘discovered’ by European DJ’s and became a highly sought after record.

Callahan joined Toy Soldier (circa ‘86-87). He later co-founded Solitaire Music with keyboardist Paul Demme, releasing recordings into the ‘00s. James also released recordings in collaboration with British bassist Tony Prescott as Callahan & Prescott.
