Top-40 and dance band played hits of the day from Aerosmith to Average white band. Original lineup consisted of Dave Prestiani (lead vocals), Mark Hoffman (guitar, vocals ex-Bock), Joe DeMarco (lead guitar, vocals), Carol Kellogg (keys), Rob Grant (bass ex-Pooba, Tricks) and Joe Lee (drums ex-Bitter Blue).
Sideshow played at the Latin Casino, Hollywood Palace and various other venues around the Baltimore area.
The band morphed into a primarily disco cover band becoming known as the New Sideshow. Grant eventually left to play for Orange Wedge, and Lee left to play with Gyro, and the Joanne Dodds band. A new bass player and drummer were hired and eventually they added sax and trumpet players to make up a nine-piece group. This version of the band played at the Johns Hopkins Bi-centennial celebration in the square. The Duke Ellington Orchestra performed in the tent beside them.
