After the group split, Gail free-lanced for a while, then went on to work with Wilson Pickett for over twelve years. Pickett was instrumental in opening doors for Gail as she also worked with many other greats including Solomon Burke, Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), a stint with The Tonight Show Band, and others.
While doing most of her work in D.C., Philadelphia, and New York, locally she was a member of The Bad Bitches of the Blues, D.C. based blues band King Bee, and performed and recorded with Charles ‘Big Daddy’ Stallings.
