Heavy metal band formed by members of Essence. The Rosedale based (mostly) female group consisted of Jackie Colvin (lead vocals), Michelle Armiger (lead guitar), Ronnie Glenn (bass), and Kim Yates (drums).
Their song “Scarlet Angel” was included on the 1987 local band compilation by radio station 97 Underground (“The Beast from The East… Vol. 1” (PCA UG-97).
Glenn was later replaced with John Mooney (bass ex-Problem Child). Mooney was later replaced with Rich Wilcox (ex-Awaken).
Scarlet Angel played Network, Olde Mill Inn, Rabbit’s Foot (Frederick)… They opened for Twisted Sister at Ram’s Head…
Yates later played for Tobias Hurwitz Band, Kryptic…
Jackie Joyce (Colvin) later with Fire Within…
Scarlet Angel re-formed in 2004 opening concerts for UFO and Kittie. They released their self-titled debut album that was a culmination of recordings that started in the ‘80s.
