North Baltimore band consisting of John Guidera (guitar and vocals), Phil Toohey (vocals), Ed Dorsey (guitar), Gary Scally (drums), Don Wickham (bass and vocals), and later, Jim Reed (guitar). The band was managed by Richard Burch.

The Provincials played rock and blues (with an emphasis on the Merseybeat), and some soul at CYO’s, teen centers, private parties. Also, numerous political fundraisers for Francis ‘Bill’ Burch’s run for Maryland Attorney General.

Don Wickham continued to play music, later switching to harmonica. He was a member of a duo with Mike White during ’70s-80s, then with the group Southbound. He eventually relocated to Austin, Texas and still plays the blues.
John Guidera went on to the Camaros band backing the Outbursts soul vocal group, and has played continuously all through the years. Jim Reed also played in more bands.
Ed Dorsey “played in bands through 1975. Several were no name bands but we played pretty regularly. The last band I was in 1972-1975 was Trespassers Will. We played Folk/Folk Rock and some originals. Did the local Folk Coffeehouse circuit including Colleges and Patches 15 Below. Saw Michael Hunt and Michael Hedges at the same venues we were playing.”
Thanks to Ed for The Provincials band history and for sharing the business card and photo.
