The Playboys band consisted of Lou Gordon, Marvin Simons, John Phillips, Lou Meyers (vocals), and Mickey Mezzanotte (sax). They could be heard at the Surf Club, Nite Owl, Keystone, Green Dolphin… The group was billed as Lou Gordon & the Playboys in early ‘60s and as Lou Meyers & the Playboys circa 1965.
Gordon was also a member of a mid-’60s group called the Chug-A-Lugs. Meyers went on to the Progressions, Mo Jo’s… Mezzanotte later played for the Originals, Swingtones, Charades…
