Vocalist, trumpeter originally started performing as part of a duo called the Luckey’s at the Carousel in 1967, becoming a trio in 1968. In late 1973 Norman heard a group performing in Pecora’s featuring Brent Hardesty (piano), Frank Zack (drums), and Paul Cridler (trumpet), and offered them a job working the Holiday Inn and American Motor Inn circuit. They also played the Iron Horse in Timonium. This lineup known as Buddy Norman & Odyssey split off and retained the name Odyssey.
Norman’s groups also featured Frank Pastore (drums ex-Swingtones), and Mickey McCleary on organ. As Buddy Norman and Company in 1975 they appeared at the Quarter Deck. Buddy and his groups were also seen at Shane’s in Towson, and Mimmie Lorenzo’s in the late ‘70s. Drummer Dennis Gordon briefly with Norman before joining Secrets…
