Vaccarino’s converted the lower level of their Ellicott City restaurant to a night club and needed a steady house band for weekends. Joe had formerly worked for a time with the group Bandit that has since broken up, so he contacted former Bandit drummer Bill Stahly. Bill was able to organize a new band that featured himself on drums, with John Linthicum (lead guitar ex-Lower East Side, Pinch), Vince Digiosafati (rhythm guitar), and Tom ‘Tucker’ Maxwell (bass ex-Paper Cup, Pinch).

The band fit the bill perfectly and made this their primary home for rehearsals and Friday and Saturday nights for a couple years. They played mostly Southern and California rock covers such as ZZ Top, Allman Brothers, Little Feat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jackson Browne, and many others.

Vince, John

Vince also played solo at Back of the Vac on weeknights. He continued with solo performances and bands including his group The Verge. John continued to play in numerous groups including the ‘00s rock and blues band Soul Messengers. Tucker moved away and dropped out the music scene.
