From press kit: “The Misguided revel in their rock ‘n’ roll roots– rockabilly, honky tonk and Delta blues– and play with an edge and intensity reminiscent of The Blasters, Jason & The Scorchers, and Social Distortion.

The Misguided call this sound ‘crunchabilly’, and offer up a representative serving on their seven-song debut release, ‘Rebel Bop’.

So far reaction to Rebel Bop has been very positive. Both Damian and Katherine Lauren of WHFS have featured cuts on their local music segments, and Mike Lynam of Run Wild Records wants to include The Misguided on his next ‘DC Jamboree’ compilation.”

“For the past two years the band has been playing around the Baltimore/Washington area at Eight by Ten, Max’s on Broadway, The Rev, 9:30 Club, and 15 Minutes.

The Misguided consist of Bob Kannenberg (ex-The Deacons, Richard Taylor & The Ravers) on guitar and vocals, Matt Maschal (ex-Sunday Cannons and Richard Taylor & The Ravers) on guitar and vocals, Brett Wilson (ex-Truetones) on harp, and Mark Williams (ex-Blizzard of Guppies, from St. Louis) on bass.” Mark replaced Joe Krocheski.”

“City Paper critic Jim Maher described them as “wailing, rootsy, blow-the-roof-off-the-joint bluesabilly that sometimes sounds like the Cramps doing the Stones, or maybe the Clash doing the Sonny Burgess songbook.”

Appearances at other venues included Dead Freddies, The Bank, EJ Bugs…
