R&B doo-wop vocal group from Edmondson Heights area. Vocalist Marty Thompson (ex-Rockabillies) was briefly with the group and recalled that his dad, a taxi driver, met Jimmy as a fare and introduced the two singers. Marty recalled that “we played the old Royal Theater with headliners Jackie Wilson, the Five Keys, Ruth Brown and others.” “Puppy Love” was the name of the song they told me they recorded and it was the same song they performed while I was with them.”
Thompson went on to join the Galaxies. Little Jimmy and the group had a record out called “Puppy Love” b/w “Say You Love Me” released in 1961 on V-Tone 102 (released as by The Tops), then reissued the same year on Len 1011, and Swan 4091.
