‘Baltimore’s singing taxi driver,’ Paul Kosty Kostopoulos lived on Eutaw Place. As a recording artist he released several singles. Notes on the Clarity 1/2 label state that it was “the hit that put Clarity Records in business… from his book and the movie “Front Man” and his boxing play “Money.” Orchestration by Will Colbert’s Maryland University Terrapins.” Musicians included Bill Colbert (keyboards), Jack Sutherland (bass), Kenny Krach (accordion), and ‘Dad’ on drums.”

As an actor Kosty played the part of Peppy Tom in the 1969 Film “Buster Ladd,” and the starring role of Joey Bates in the play “Money Fighter.” Kosty also wrote novelty sides for Charles Ayers Orchestra…
