Metal band from Glen Burnie, recording artist formed in early ’80s and developed a devoted following throughout the region. ‘80s members Billy ‘Bam Bam’ Smith (ex-Chapelz), Dave Bealle (bass), and Sean McAuliffe (lead vocals) split off and formed the Recking Crew in 1989.
A 1994 Korupt lineup featured ‘Bam Bam’ Smith (drums), Aubrey Bradley (guitar), Paul Majors (bass), and Mark Marshall (lead vocals). Later members included Karl Reichenbach (drums)… They could be seen at the Midway Café, Hal Daddy’s, Daytona’s, Network, J&D Saloon, Terrapin Station, Hammerjacks… Opened for Quiet Riot at Jaxx (Springfield VA)…
After a long hiatus the group re-formed in 2007 and resurrected the original lineup of Sean McAuliffe (lead vocals), Aubry Bradley (guitar), Dave Beall (bass), and Karl Reichenbach (drums). Other members throughout the group history have included Lou Tonson (guitar), Russ Strahan (guitar). Most recent lineup as of this writing is Sean McCall (McAuliffe), Robby Anderson and Jeff Barnosky (guitars), Dave Beall (bass) and Karl Reichenbach (drums).
Performances have included House of Rock (White Marsh), Red Eye Dock Bar (Grasonville), Nabb’s Creek, Crossroads Tavern, M2 Rock Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion, Outlaw Jam 2 Festival, and a regular rotation at the Fish Head Cantina in Halethorpe. Korupt was winner of a Harley Davidson Baltimore Battle of the Bands.
Tonson passed away in 2009, McAuliffe passed away in 2015.
