Originally from the Laurel area, Dallman (guitar) and his band the Knightcaps featured Bert Gosnell (piano), and Gary Edenfield (drums). The group played the teen center and school dance circuit. They won a talent contest at the grand opening of the Laurel Shopping Center. The group recorded a single on Milt Grant’s Punch label in D.C. “The Bug” b/w “Honey Bee” (Punch 6000). “The Bug” was released in 1958 and became a regional hit throughout D.C. and Baltimore.

Dallman and his band could be seen locally at the California Inn on Rt. 1, Carl’s Musical Bar, the Rally Club at the corner of Forrest and Ensor, Waterloo Middle School. Other members of the band included Bob Mitchell (bass), Joe Ecker (guitar), and Bob Kuykendall (drums).
