Roots rock band with alt/country and jazz tinge. Early lineup featured Andrew Grimm (vocals, guitar –Factory Horse), Shane Poteete (bass, percussion), and Alan Zepp (drums, organ). This trio recorded the first June Star self-titled CD, released early 1999. By 2000 and their second CD, Poteete had departed and joining the group were Tim Johnson (guitar), and Larry Chenoweth (bass).

June Star signed with Safehouse Records in 2001 for their third release that featured Grimm, Johnson, and Zepp, with Tim Bracken (bass), and Tom Scanlan (mandolin).

Their fourth CD “Sugarbird” featured Grimm, and multi-instrumentalist Bracken, with Ryan Finnerin on bass, and Jeff Trueman replacing Zepp on drums

In 2004 Jay Filippone (guitar ex-Beltways) joined the group, and Clark Matthews replaced Trueman on drums.
