R&B and gospel vocal group formed in 1974 as a trio consisting of Steve Scribner (ex-Mascaleros), Sonny Bailey, and Kevin Little. Eventually the group became a quintet adding Curt Smith (ex-Fabulous Friends), and Cornell Georgie.
In Person may have been one of the first groups to use pre-recorded backing music as leader Scribner described “we had the backing music recorded onto cassettes, and we sang live.” They performed at local festivals (Towson…), and many church halls, and private functions.
After Georgie passed away the group disbanded. Smith went back to the Fabulous Friends. Scribner later formed the Metro West Tempts…
